Alexandra House celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2017
ALEXANDRA HOUSE celebrated its 10th anniversary in September 2017, enjoying a decade of providing pampering and wellness to thousands of guests from across Yorkshire and beyond.
The spa has grown from strength to strength over the last decade, growing its team from 3 to 14 staff – many of whom have worked at the spa for several years now, securing funding to purchase its own premises in 2013, raising over £20,000 to support local charities and establishing itself as one of the region’s leading holistic spas with a string of awards.
The spa’s success is particularly impressive when you consider that owner Dr Maxine Stead had no prior experience of either health spas or running a business, having had a 14-year long career in cancer research. In addition, the spa opened just as the world went into recession and the original business plan had to be adapted to reflect a more prudent market.
ALEXANDRA HOUSE SPA is a true holistic health spa, renowned for its exceptional customer service and high quality treatments. The urban retreat has helped thousands of customers to prevent and minimise stress and ill-health through specialist holistic treatments such as Reiki and reflexology. The new spa premises opened in 2014 and have been designed to create a unique spa experience with its unrivalled underground thermal rooms, tranquil landscaped gardens, and luxurious yet comfortable treatment rooms and relaxation spaces.
Over the years, the spa has embraced the creation of various social media platforms, published its reiki research in an international journal and has set itself apart from the growing number of spas by focusing on the provision of highly professional and credible holistic treatments and exceptional customer service.
Speaking about the anniversary owner Maxine said: “Our success over the last 10 years is as a result of the hard work and commitment of our staff who are passionate about helping people feel better. The management team is committed to the professional development of the staff and cares about staff well-being as well as client health and wellness. Our collective wealth of experience and my scientific background ensure that we can provide a credible and knowledgeable service to our broad client base, delivering the right treatments to support the needs of each individual client.
