Well here we are, just over one week into my trial so I thought I would share my thoughts with you all. Firstly how the 1st day felt. After the very thorough consultation process then the actual first facial my skin felt AMAZING!! I am the first to admit that I have (badly) neglected my skin over the years. I never, in my wildest dreams, thought it would feel as good as it did. I could not believe the instant effect of how much better my skin felt, the tightness had gone along with the dry patches. My skin felt softer, smoother and thoroughly nourished. The amount of products you gave me appeared over-whelming for someone who had had years of minimal/no skincare but after one days intensive treatment I felt I had to persevere.
Which brings us to this point, 10 days in. I have followed Faye’s instructions to the letter, in fact I have the card she wrote pinned to the wall above my dressing table so I can’t go wrong! I am really pleased with the effects so far. It has definitely made a difference to my skin after just 10 days so heaven only knows how much the full 100 days will make it feel!!
The improvement in my skin has prompted me (after a 9 year makeup absence) to actually purchase some mascara. My daughter would like to know …. who is this new woman and what has Alexandra House done with her mother??!!
21 March 2019
Thought it was time I shared a few more thoughts with you and gave you opinions on the products I have been using. My skin is certainly starting to show the benefits as you can see from the photos you took. It feels good, looks “plumped up” and a lot of the blemishes have cleared up.
Regarding the products I have been using morning and night: –
Soothing cleanser with cucumber and lettuce – feels very light, non-greasy and is easily massaged into the skin
Soothing toner with lavender and camomile – used on cotton pads to take off the cleanser. A lovely cooling lotion even though it is kept at room temperature. Apparently, it can be kept in the fridge and used as a facial spritz in warm weather. Can’t see it’s been warm enough to try yet!!
Advanced hydrating serum with hyaluronic acid – 3 to 4 drops twice a day certainly seems to be helping to plump up my skin and fill in the fine lines
No 3 clearing aromatic serum – a light oil that I have been using on my nose and chin to help prevent breakouts of spots due to my nightly use of a breathing mask appears to be fulfilling its purpose admirably
Soothing moisturising lotion with comfrey and lavender – a lovely light lotion quickly absorbed into the skin
Refining eye gel – you don’t need much of this at once, may be half a pea or less as it is only for the eye area
Moisturising solar shield – the one product I have found so far that I couldn’t really take to. After years of using nothing on my skin this felt too heavy and greasy even when even applied and massaged in. Sorry Eve Taylor, I did try to persevere but just can’t see me continuing with this. Will see if the lovely ladies at Alexandra House can recommend something lighter.
Soothing masque with aloe vera and camellia (used 2 to 3 times a week) – a lovely cooling masque that you apply in a thin layer all over the face, leave on 10 minutes then rinse off with tepid water. Leaves the skin feeling lovely and soft
10th April 2019 – 2nd facial
After a discussion with Faye and Frankie at my facial it was decided to discontinue the Moisturising Solar Shield which I disliked and gave me Age Resist Priming moisturiser to use twice a day instead.I also got myself the Facial Cleansing Brush to use with the soothing cleanser which helps boost circulation.
I was also given Age Resist Active Complex Exfoliant to use 2 to 3 times a week as well as the soothing masque. Exfoliant first, leave on for 10 minutes, rinse off then apply the masque, leave on for 10 minutes and rinse off.
My skin has certainly improved over the course of this trial, I am now starting to receive comments from friends and family. The icing on the cake so far was when I saw a friend I haven’t see for a few months. Her first comment was regarding my weight loss (7 stone in the last 14 months) and the second comment was “you’re even looking younger in the face”. YEESSSSS!! I’ll take compliments like that any day!!
16 May 2019 – 3rd and final facial
Faye and Frankie were pleased with the results so far and took the usual set of photographs. I haven’t seen the photos yet but don’t need to as I can see the results in the mirror.
Am loving the Age Resist Active Complex Exfoliant I was given at the last facial. My skin feels wonderful after using this. When I have used exfoliants in the past they have been “gritty” and felt like they were stripping a layer of skin off by sanding it but this product is not at all like that. Leaves the skin feeling clean and fresh and the bonus is it smells lovely!! The Soothing masque with aloe vera and camellia is cooling even though the tube is kept at room temperature, how does that work??!!
I have noticed over the course of this trial just how much my skin has improved by the amount of product I need to use on a daily basis. The best examples of this are the Advanced hydrating serum with hyaluronic acid and the Soothing moisturising lotion with comfrey and lavender. When I started this trial, I needed to use 3-4 pumps of each product but my skin is now so well hydrated it only takes half that amount.
13th June 2019 – no facial but final photography session
Well this is it; my 100 days are up, and the final photos have been taken. After discussion with Frankie and comparing the “before and after” photos we can both see a difference. My skin looks fresher and well hydrated while the bags under my eyes are still there but not as bad as they were at the start. The lines at the sides of my eyes appear less as do the lines on my forehead. My skin feels totally different to the skin I had at the start of this trial. People who have known me for a number of years say things such as “you’re looking well” and as I have said earlier, I will take all the compliments I can get!
Looking back with regard to the products I have used I would say my favourite is the Age Resist Active Complex Exfoliant and the least favourite was the Moisturising solar shield. The overall quality of the various products I have tried is absolutely amazing and I would not hesitate to recommend them to other ladies who care about their skin.
I would like to thank Maxine for choosing me for this trial, Frankie for her photography skills and encouragement and last, but by no means least, the skills of Faye for giving me the most relaxing facials. My thanks also go to Matt at Eve Taylor for agreeing to this trial.
Ladies (and gentleman) it’s been amazing, and I thank you all.
