Mel is an accredited teacher of Mindfulness and Maxine owns a holistic health spa and wellness business. Both share a passion of helping people live a happier, more positive and calmer life. This workshop includes education, meditation, sharing of knowledge and coping mechanisms, all in the comfortable space that is Alexandra House Spa.

Coaching and Hypnotherapy
Alexandra House collaborates with Heidi Dawson to offer coaching and hypnotherapy services. Heidi has been supporting people on their journeys through life since the mid-90s, when she embarked upon her career as an NCH Accredited Hypnotherapist. She added to her skill-set in 2006, when she trained as a Professional Coach, meaning that she is well-placed to help you unravel issues from your past and present, as well as get some clarity and direction into the future of your life and/or business.
Professional Coaching
For most people, a coaching programme is a journey that spans a number of sessions and explores lots of different aspects of a person’s life. The journey has a beginning, a middle and an end; it’s not about getting from A to B as quickly as possible. The real value lies in taking the scenic route and making it a journey of discovery.
Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy is a natural and gentle tool that uses your own inner resources to bring about positive change and help you achieve realistic goals. Fully conscious and in control the whole time, together we will explore your issues freely and without judgement, in an open and relaxing environment.
Coaching v. Hypnotherapy – which is right for me?
The simple answer to this is “whatever works for you.”
Whether you are dealing with mental health issues, relationship issues, confidence/self-esteem, or personal performance and effectiveness, the majority of challenges that people face in life can be addressed through either route, so it really comes down to how you prefer to work.

8-Week Mindfulness for Life Course, £150
In the same way that we exercise to build physical muscle, there is a growing recognition that mindfulness training and cognitive-behavioural therapies can help us to build mental muscle to support our mental health.
Mindfulness for Life (MFL) is an 8 week programme, delivered at Alexandra House Spa by Mindfulness Trainer, Mel Edley who is registered with BAMBA (the British Association for Mindfulness Based Applications). Mel originally trained to deliver Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, but has since trained with Oxford University Mindfulness Centre to deliver MFL.
The programme is structured and encourages you to develop skills and attitudes that can really help with your mental wellbeing. The learning is largely experiential (you learn by experiencing and practicing Mindfulness, every day). It offers a new way to work with difficulties that we all come across in our lives but also a different way of relating to ourselves and others – a way that includes more contentment, appreciation, wisdom and compassion.
The environment is friendly, relaxed and non-judgmental and you will learn how to incorporate Mindfulness tools and techniques into your everyday life. There will be moments of realization, but also a few giggles too as we share our experiences!!
